ELEVEN YEARS AND COUNTING!
"THE MANOR" IS BACK AT GREYSTONE MANSION
MURDER AND MYSTERY FILL THOSE RENOWNED HALLS ONCE MORE!

With its spectacular views of the city, its haunting memories of past mysteries and majestic architecture, Greystone Mansion is an ideal summer destination for an evening with THE MANOR, KATHRINE BATES' "unforgettable theatrical experience and one of the most dynamic shows in Los Angeles Theatre history." "THE MANOR," Theatre 40's critically-acclaimed, iconic drama of history, mystery and intrigue, has returned for its eleventh year to Greystone Mansion, the scene of the original crime that inspired this fictionalized story by BATES. Audiences are again following actors through several decorated rooms of Greystone's first floor as murder, madness and dark secrets are revealed.

KATHRINE BATES, an accomplished writer, actress and musician, leads a cast of 12 performers in "THE MANOR," a fictionalized play dramatizing the Doheny family tragedy (some parts portrayed by different players according to their schedules). In addition to "THE MANOR," a lively interest in history led her to create the award-nominated "EVIL LEGACY: The Story of Lucrezia Borgia," as well as "ROAR OF THE CROWD," chronicling the sad downfall of 'Fatty' Arbuckle, taken from headlines in 1921 as shocking as any written today. "ROAR OF THE CROWD" was also featured in a segment on Celebrity Justice on CBS' Sunday Morning Show.

Her most recent project on Theatre 40's stage was "THE COLOR OF ROSE," a "fascinating" play based on the inspiring and turbulent life of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, and her steamy stage adaptation of James M. Cain's "DOUBLE INDEMNITY" received much critical acclaim. Bates' just-completed effort, "THE PHARAOH QUEEN," shedding light on the woman who dared - in male garb - to declare herself ruler of Egypt, is slated for a world premiere at Theatre 40 in 2014. As an actress, Bates' appearances at Theatre 40 include Blood Wedding, The Constant Wife, On Borrowed Time, The Manor, Chekhov in Yalta, An Act of the Imagination, Roar of the Crowd, and as one of the singing Betty Lou's in T40's holiday radio show presentation. During the holiday season, Kathrine conducts THE CHORALIERS, a Culver City-based choral group she created which performs in and around southern California.

Director BEVERLY OLEVIN'S 2013 cast includes: KATHRINE BATES, MEREDITH BISHOP, MICHAEL BONNABEL, NINA BORISOFF, DARBY HINTON, SHELBY KOCEE, DANIEL LESLIE, MELANIE MACQUEEN, GRINNELL MORRIS, ESTHER LEVY RICHMAN, SHAWN SAVAGE, DAVID HUNT STAFFORD, MARTIN THOMPSON and AMY TOLSKY. Stage Managers for THE MANOR are HENRY LIDE and DON SOLOSAN. Producers - KATHRINE BATES and DAVID HUNT STAFFORD.
